ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Responsibilities

– Monitor power consumption verses production, and control power plant operations
– Control the usage of the diesel generators and ensure that daily maintenance is carried out on them
– Check instruments and switchboards to make sure that all systems are working efficiently, to detect line disturbances and to check the flow of power
– Control processes and equipment associated with inputs for power generation such as fuel and water
– monitor the operation of power switches for safety of personnel and avoid interruptions during production and/or repairs
– maintain and observe relevant documentation related to qualification, validation and preventive maintenance
– maintain up to date documentation including SOPs
– compile records and reports on equipment performance, instrument readings and switching operations
– liaise with UMEME to ensure steady supply of power
– handle electrical breakdowns
– carryout work allocations and work plans
– coordinate planned preventive maintenance activities for equipment
– carryout instrumentation works
– automation works for the operation of engineering
– project planning and supporting
– prepare periodic reports to the line manager
– any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time

Responsibilities

– Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or any other relevant course
– 2 years+ demonstrable experience in busy industrial set up
– Thorough understanding of test methods, digital and analogy circuit designs and the design, development and application of a wide variety of instruments.
– High analytical mind, with exceptional problem solving skills and attention to detail
– self starter, flexible and able to work well under pressure at work
– able to work shifts whenever required
