PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To help in the general management and operationalization of the Nursing Skills Laboratory.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- a) Bachelor of Nursing Science or Bachelor of Midwifery Science from a recognized/accredited institution.
b) A Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education is an added advantage.
c) Skills in Laboratory teaching, clinical teaching experience, or clinical practice experience.
d) Registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council with an up-to-date Practicing License as BSN registered nurse or BMS registered Midwife.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- a) To assist in conducting Skills Laboratory teaching and learning.
b) To assist in Clinical Preparation, teaching, and supervision.
c) To maintain Records in the Department.
d) To assist in infection prevention and control in the Teaching and Learning Environment.
e) To ensure the security and maintenance of Laboratory equipment.
f) To assist in managing the Procurement and Supply chain.
g) To ensure quality and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
h) To assist in organizing skills laboratory practicals, clinical, and community teaching at various sites.
i) To compile and submit Practical Test results to the course Lecturer.
j) To participate in Community outreach activities.
KEY OUTPUTS
- a) Skills Laboratory teaching and learning conducted.
b) Clinical preparation, teaching, and supervision conducted.
c) Department records maintained.
d) Infection prevention and control implemented.
e) Security and maintenance of Laboratory equipment ensured.
f) Procurement management executed.
g) Quality and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures maintained.
h) Skills laboratory practicals, clinical, and community teaching organized.
i) Practical Test results compiled and submitted.
