Branch Operations Manager

To support its expanding customer base, the Bank seeks a dynamic, self-motivated, and results-driven professional to join the team as a Branch Operations Manager. This role reports to the Branch Manager and will be based at the branch.
The Branch Operations Manager ensures efficient daily branch operations, emphasizing customer onboarding, AML/CFT compliance, and operational control. The position also contributes to achieving branch sales and non-interest income targets while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise loan officers to meet individual and branch performance targets.
- Assist the Branch Manager in delinquency and loan committee meetings.
- Verify loan documentation authenticity and completeness.
- Conduct weekly branch staff meetings to discuss operational issues.
- Facilitate audits, compliance checks, and HR support sessions at the branch.
- Cross-sell Yako Bank services to clients.
- Manage employee grievances and staff scheduling in line with HR policies.
- Support account opening, validation, and document verification processes.
- Ensure efficient delivery of customer requests, such as issuing chequebooks, ATM cards, and account statements.
- Monitor account movements and report material changes.
- Maintain proper control of sales kits and promotional stock.
- Address complex customer issues while executing superior customer service.
- Assist in performance appraisals, promotions, and team capability building.
- Manage cash and vault maintenance at the branch.
Required Competencies
- Education: A business degree in finance, commerce, business administration, economics, statistics, or a related field. A certified banking qualification is an added advantage.
- Skills: Risk/controls management, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and strong communication skills.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in banking or a similar environment, with at least 1 year in an operations supervisory role.
- Attributes: In-depth understanding of branch operations, impeccable integrity, and excellent customer service skills.
