Chief of Academics and Curriculum

Full-time

Acorns International School is hiring a Chief of Academics and Curriculum to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s academic programs and curriculum. This senior leadership role is pivotal in ensuring academic excellence, fostering innovation in teaching and learning, and driving school-wide improvement initiatives to meet the needs of a diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design, development, and alignment of curricula across all campuses to meet educational standards and institutional goals.
  • Lead academic planning, including setting objectives, assessing outcomes, and implementing improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic teams to enhance teaching methodologies and student engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate curriculum effectiveness, ensuring relevance and adaptability to global educational trends.
  • Provide leadership in professional development for educators to support innovative instructional practices.
  • Drive school improvement initiatives through data-driven decision-making and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Represent the institution in academic forums and build partnerships to enhance program offerings.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education:
    • Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in a senior academic leadership role (e.g., Head of Academics, Curriculum Director).
    • Proven expertise in curriculum design, academic planning, and school improvement.
    • Experience in international or multi-curriculum environments (e.g., IB, Cambridge, or similar) is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Deep knowledge of curriculum development and educational best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills to inspire educators and staff.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking for academic planning and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Adaptability to work in diverse educational settings and multi-campus environments.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments.

 

These positions are based in Kampala but require frequent travel to all campuses
