Chief of Staff

Full-time

The Chief of Staff at UpEnergy Group will play a crucial role in driving strategic initiatives and ensuring the seamless operation of the leadership team. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing cross-functional projects, conducting key strategic analyses, leading business planning and key analysis workflows, owning organizational performance management, and providing critical high-level support to CEO and the executive team. The Chief of Staff will be instrumental in ensuring that UpEnergy’s strategic objectives are met and that the leadership team remains well-coordinated and focused on their key priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Planning:
• Identity, lead and manage strategic projects across the organization, ensuring alignment with UpEnergy’s long-term goals and ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with key projects, ensuring successful outcomes.

  • Build critical cross-functional understanding of UpEnergy’s business to help identify strategic priorities and propose work programs to optimise performance and governance across the organisation.
    2. Organizational and Leadership Development:
    • Prepare and manage leadership team meetings, including setting agendas, documenting action items, and following up on deliverables.
    • Energise and facilitate effective communication and collaboration across the leadership team, ensuring that all members are aligned on key initiatives and accountable to their deliveries.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the leadership team and other parts of the organization, ensuring that information flows smoothly and that strategic priorities are communicated effectively.
    • Direct a leadership program with the view to improve performance and communication, whether through coaching sessions and/or a planned program of activities.
  • Contribute to the development of organizational strategies and the continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across the organization.
    3. Performance Management:
    • Work closely with the leadership team to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the leadership team that align with UpEnergy’s strategic objectives.
    • Improve existing strategic planning cycles to ensure that all departments are meeting their targets.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to the leadership team on organizational performance, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for action.
  • Create platform uniformity across the company in key areas – e.g. project management, CRM, tableau – to improve cross-function collaboration.
    4. Executive Support:
    • Provide direct support to the CEO and Chairman on key strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in the preparation of key communications, including speeches, PR initiatives and Board reports.

Does this sound like you?
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a strategic, consulting or operational role, ideally within a high-growth company or a similar environment.
• Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving organizational performance, preferably at C-Suite level.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives.
• Thrives on improving processes and collaboration, and is not afraid to challenge the status quo.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred ability to condense complex technical and financial information into strategic input with clarity.
