Communications Officer 

Full-time

The Communications Officer will plan, develop and implement  communication strategies in order to improve operational efficiency, raise awareness and improve the company brand image.

LOCATION: Head Office, Kampala

Key duties/responsibilities:
• Creating the company’s newsletter to document company progress. This involves planning, designing, sourcing for articles/ content and producing newsletters.
• Communication on Company strategy- The communication officer is responsible for creating strategic marketing / communications plans to provide direction for the company’s internal communications.
• Write and optimise content for the website, digital newsletters, print publications and social networking sites.
• Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital channels.
• Strategize, plan and execute different communication hyping sales or other important events within the company. This involves designing the plans, branding them and execution.
• Scout and manage events that the company can participate in to promote our service offering and managing/hyping internal events.
• Report and prepare accurate and timely communication reports as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
• Assist other departments to execute and achieve their communication needs in a world class manner. This involves advising on important document designs, creation of messages, recommending channels to relay messages the best way, time to relay them, and collecting the feedback.
• Strategizing digital and communication ideas i.e., brainstorming for Creative ideas together with Management. This also involves crystalizing the ideas into plans, creating the content around them and executing them for the desired effect.
• Build, engage and maintain relationships with fellow employees through our intranet platform. This platform is also used to engage the internal community to foster the spirit of inclusivity and promoting the company culture.

Required Qualifications and Work Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position preferably in a financial institution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication specializing in Public Relations.
• Content Development
• Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
