Corporate Affairs Specialist
Full-time
Corporate Affairs Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s Sustainability and Corporate Affairs strategy to enhance the Bank’s reputation and stakeholder management.
Reports to: Chief Manager Corporate Affairs & Communication
Key Result Areas:
Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and CSR
- Coordinate and implement the strategic Environmental Social Governance (ESG) activities of the Bank in line with approved strategy, objectives, policies, and budget.
- Monitor and ensure that ESG initiatives and commitments are executed on time and to the expected standard.
- Implement and manage the relationships with key ESG partners and stakeholders, ensuring growth in partner activities in line with Bank policy.
- Collect, report, and submit ESG information as per applicable ESG regulations and framework standards.
- Manage ESG communication with stakeholders and ESG performance within investee operations.
- Support and manage CSR and philanthropy activities for church, branch communities, mission-critical, and other customer segments in line with strategy, policies, and budget.
- Evaluate and enhance the Bank’s performance in areas related to environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices.
- Conduct research and analysis of companies’ ESG practices and assess material ESG risks and opportunities in investment portfolios.
- Collaborate with business and investment teams to integrate ESG considerations into investment decision-making processes.
- Support partner reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the ESG strategy implementation.
- Jointly seek out ESG financing opportunities and partnerships with business divisions.
Communication and Marketing Functions Support
- Support the communication, marketing, and PR function of the Bank.
- Coordinate bank events and media relations associated with the events.
- Promote the ESG activities of the Bank’s internal, public, and digital media.
- Ensure the visibility of the Bank’s ESG initiatives, both internal and external, for a strong brand reputation.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Develop and manage relationships with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Develop and manage relationships with ESG support partners, funders, and donors.
Corporate Affairs
- Formulate the strategy for the corporate affairs department.
- Coordinate the bank’s corporate affairs activities to build stakeholders’ confidence.
- Liaise with Centenary Foundation on all activities to be executed through the Bank.
- Responsible for updating the Business Continuity Plan for the unit (BCP).
- Support staff training activities.
Reporting
- Responsible for preparing periodic reports on ESG and Corporate Affairs.
- Responsible for minimizing costs and maximizing value through monitoring the ESG budget.
- Support annual report writing and integrated reporting on ESG.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, social sciences, arts, commerce, marketing, public relations, business administration, or other relevant fields from a recognized university.
- Relevant course in sustainability/Environmental Social Governance/Monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate affairs/sustainability role.
