Contract
The Creative Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and effective designs to support SEMA’s communication, reporting and marketing efforts. This role involves developing a wide range of design materials, including print, digital, and multimedia formats, to enhance the organization’s brand identity and communicate its message effectively..

Key Responsibilities:
Design Creation:
- Develop creative concepts and designs for various marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, posters, and advertisements.
- Design visually appealing layouts and graphics for reports, presentations, and infographics.
- Create engaging visuals for social media platforms.
- Develop branding materials, including logos, color palettes, and typography.
Digital Design:
- Design and develop website graphics, banners, and user interfaces.
- Create digital illustrations and animations.
- Ensure designs are optimized for different platforms and devices.
Project Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop design concepts and strategies.
- Work closely with other departments to meet their design needs.
Software Proficiency:
- Utilize design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, XD, After Effects and Premiere Pro) to create high-quality designs.
- Stay updated on the latest design trends and software advancements.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
- 5 years of proven experience
- Strong visual communication and design skills.
- Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent attention to detail and creativity.
- Strong understanding of branding and visual identity.
Working Conditions:
The Creative Designer typically works in an office environment, with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines. The role requires a high level of creativity and attention to detail. This is a full-time job (40 hours/week), with occasional weekend activities (conferences, meetings.)

We offer a full-time contract for 12 months which may be renewed upon successful completion of targets. The probation period is 3 months. PAYE, NSSF and health insurance are covered, as well as 21 holidays and an annual training budget.
Remuneration is a combination of base salary and increments based on acquisition achievements. Please note we are a small, local social enterprise, and we offer salaries according to Ugandan local organization standards – we do not offer an international organization (UN) scale salary. We are looking for someone who is (willing to be) based in Kampala, Uganda.
