DATA ANALYST

General Summary

Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) (www.idi-makerere.com) is a not-for-profit organization, owned by Makerere University. Its mission is “To strengthen health systems in Africa, with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through Research and Capacity building”. Over the last 6 years, IDI has been running the Fleming Fund project, which supports government efforts to set-up systems for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance. The project seeks to fill the position of data analysts will the qualifications below.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support data collection from the surveillance sites including Data Quality Assessments.
2.   Support standardization of the use of WHONET at surveillance sites, NCCs and One Health Coordinating Office
3. Act as the point of contact for all data requests and ensure that users’ data needs are satisfied.
4. Act as the point person for all data and information technology-related issues.
5. Liaises with the rest of the team and any other relevant party to ensure timely preparation of reports according to the project work plan and Monitoring and Evaluation plan.
6. Perform routine backups and ensure security of data captured into the project electronic databases.
7. Perform analysis and interpretation of data as & when required for project requirements, particularly on a quarterly basis to support project reporting and engagement with policy stakeholders
8. Support integration of human, animal, and water and environment sector data through DISIS to enable its visualization at the One Health platform
9. Support documentation including development of knowledge management products
