Field Leader
Contract
The Field Leader will be responsible for supervising Field Managers and their Field Officers, ensuring field activities are carried out effectively across all Pods/Sectors and Parishes under your supervision

Responsibilities
- Farmer Enrollment
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the enrollment of 500+ farmers per Field Officer in each site or parish across all of the FMs in your scope of supervision.
- Drive marketing and ordering of One Acre Fund products and services to all potential farmers as part of enrollment across all of the FMs in your scope of supervision
- Ensure less than 5 Fake/Ghost farmers in each site across all of the FMs
- Field Staff and Farmer Training
- Review field and farmer agronomy trainings for FMs and FOs in coordination with your manager to ensure fit for purpose.
- Run and conduct quality trainings for FMs and FOs across field and agronomy activities throughout the season.
- Lead field team and staff meetings. Manage Monday and Wednesday Meetings to ensure timeliness, quality of sessions, and strong KPI discussions, field strategies, and knowledge transfer.
- Field Visits
- Conduct regular field visits to verify and monitor field operations and impact activities across your field managers’ scopes of work.
- Ensure integrity of results reported, troubleshoot field challenges, and ensure team integrity in field reports.
- Ensure field presence for all our FMs and FOs from Monday to Friday.
- Provide timely reporting and updates of all program field activities to relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally as required.
- Planning and Strategy setting
- Lead the season planning and management of pods/sectors and sites under supervision including field operations, staff development, field logistics, field challenges and problem-solving, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to attain our field operational KPIs across the season through our FMs, and FOs.
- Supervise and support FMs in driving results and customer service through their FOs.
- Report Daily KPIs across all FMs and FOs.
- Local Leader Engagement
- Coordinate and conduct regular touchpoints with Local Leaders and District / Sub County Agricultural Officers across our operational area to ensure they’re continuously aware of our key activities and updates through the season, and that we have their support for our work on the ground

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- Knowledge: Program knowledge, Coffee Agronomy
- Skills:
- Technical: Typing Skills, Basic Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel/Google Docs/Microsoft Word
- Soft skills: Communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, team building
- At least 3 years of experience working with smallholder farmers in Uganda
- At least 1 years of experience of any level of Field Team management.
- Ability to cover large distances by road daily
- Ability to lead Field team strategies. You constantly look for alternative solutions to problems.
- Diploma in Agriculture or Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
- Fluent in English and Luganda
