Finance and Administration Assistant

Full-time

The Finance and Administration Assistant will support the Finance and Administration function in the Kampala Office

Reporting supervisor (s):

The Finance and Administration Assistant will report to the Finance Manager under the supervision of the Resident Programme Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of office petty cash and imprest
  • Support the validation of invoices and payment requests for approval
  • Follow up accountabilities for kinds advanced and review supporting documents submitted
  • Manage and maintain a filling system financial documents.
  • Support country programme financial reporting.
  • Support logistics, procurement requests and process
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option), Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting option). Any relevant university qualification with a post graduate training in Finance and Administration.
  • Skills and competencies: Overall, the position requires a profile to provide Finance and Administration support. The specific skills and competencies required include:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role with a reputable company, International NGO or Development Cooperation.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting multi-year programmes
  • Fluent communication (orally and written) in English.
  • Pro-active and representative attitude.
  • An eye for details, analytic and content oriented.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office and accounting software’s, internet usage and multimedia apps);
  • Ability to make timely decisions under pressure and yet work independently.
  • High level of integrity, capacity to carry out due diligence in all transactions
  • Gender sensitive
  • Team player
