Finance Officer
Full-time
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and financial management functions at the Yumbe Field Office. The role ensures compliance with IRC policies, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Specific Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Act in accordance with local laws and accounting standards.
- Implement IRC finance policies, procedures, and systems.
- Review payment vouchers for compliance with IRC policies and the authorization matrix.
- Complete end-of-month tasks accurately and on time.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing finance-related reports for decision-making.
- Reconcile program advances and staff personal accounts (T7) monthly.
- Share the Withholding Tax (WHT) schedule with the head office by the 5th of every month.
Payment Processing:
- Process PO invoices and vendor payment journals in Integra with attached documentation.
- Verify invoices and ensure proper support documentation.
- Ensure timely liquidation of advances.
Budget and Grant Management:
- Participate in monthly BVA meetings and share minutes with the Finance Manager.
- Track and process accruals for closing grants.
Inventory and Cash Management:
- Support monthly inventory and cash counts with the supply chain department.
- Reconcile mobile money and cash accounts weekly and monthly.
Other Duties:
- Support external and internal audits.
- Contribute to shared program cost (SPC) allocation as requested.
- Participate in bid analysis and evaluations.
- Provide weekly activity reports and plans to the Finance Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with an international NGO.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (minimum 1 year).
- ACCA/CPA Level 2 qualification is an advantage.
- Proficiency in computer skills, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
