Dei Group, a Plant is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Fleet Manager.
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the pharmaceutical company’s vehicle fleet, which includes vehicles dedicated to the transportation of employees as well as those used for delivering pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and other items. This role ensures that all transportation activities meet regulatory standards, while also ensuring the safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness of the company’s fleet.
Key responsibilities include overseeing fleet operations, managing-drivers, ensuring vehicle maintenance,-and implementing safety protocols.

Duties:
- Manage daily operations for two distinct fleet segments: employee transportation and goods transportation).
- Develop and implement schedules and routes to optimize both passenger and goods delivery efficiency.
- Coordinate with department heads to schedule and allocate vehicles as per operational needs, ensuring timely transport for employees and efficient logistics for product delivery.
- Oversee route planning for pharmaceutical distribution to meet delivery timelines while ensuring the integrity of temperature-sensitive items.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with health, safety, and pharmaceutical regulations, including Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for pharmaceutical transport.
- Implement safety protocols specific to both passenger transport and pharmaceutical logistics, ensuring cold chain requirements are met for temperature-sensitive products.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and ensure that drivers adhere to safety protocols and are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Establish and maintain strict protocols for vehicle cleanliness, maintenance, and security to prevent contamination, especially pharmaceutical transport vehicles.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules for both fleet segments to ensure all vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with maintenance providers to ensure timely repair and servicing of vehicles, minimizing downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections, including adherence to regulatory maintenance standards for pharmaceutical transport vehicles.
- Ensure that pharmaceutical transport vehicles undergo specialized maintenance to preserve their capacity for cold chain storage when required.
- Recruit, train, and manage drivers for both passenger and goods transport, ensuring they understand the specific requirements for each fleet segment.
- Provide ongoing training on Good Distribution Practice
(GĐP), cold chain management, and safe driving practices tailored to pharmaceutical logistics and passenger safety. - Monitor driver performance, enforce company policies, conduct regular performance reviews, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Encourage a culture of safety and accountability among drivers, fostering teamwork and professionalism.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, focusing on maintaining cost efficiency for both employee transport and pharmaceutical logistics.
Track and analyze costs related to fuel consumption, maintenance, repairs, and operational efficiency for each segment. - Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on safety, compliance, or quality standards.
- Prepare regular budget and cost analysis reports for the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to highlight areas of improvement and cost containment.
- Oversee fleet-related inventory, including spare parts, fuel, safety equipment, and cold storage components for pharmaceutical transport vehicles.
Ensure that all vehicles are equipped with necessary tools, emergency kits, and spare parts for on-road troubleshooting. - Track asset lifecycle, including procurement, depreciation, and disposal schedules, to ensure timely replacement and asset optimization for both fleets.
- Use fleet management software, GPS tracking, and telematics to monitor vehicle location, performance, and compliance for both passenger and goods transport vehicles.
- Analyze fleet data to improve routing efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and identify trends for better fleet utilization.
Implement temperature monitoring systems in pharmaceutical transport vehicles to ensure cold chain integrity. - Generate regular reports on fleet performance, driver compliance, and operational efficiency, presenting findings to senior management.
- Maintain comprehensive records for both fleet segments, including driver logs, maintenance records, delivery receipts, and incident reports.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical transport, including records required for GDP adherence.
- Submit regular reports on fleet operations, compliance metrics, budget adherence, and safety performance to the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An advanced Degree (master’s) in a relevant field is an advantage but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, ideally in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or cold-chain logistics industries.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficiency with fleet management software, GPS tracking, and telematics systems.
- Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP), cold chain logistics, and other relevant standards for transport.
Evaluations: (This may be tested)
LANGUAGE: English level IV (Advanced knowledge) Reading/
Writing/Speaking is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to manage, motivate, and train drivers and support staff for both people and goods transportation.
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration and reporting to management.
- Strong data analysis skills for reporting, cost control, and optimization
