Food Processing Officer

Full-time

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated food processing officer to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing safe and efficient processing of our fresh and processed food products. You will play an important role in maintaining hygiene standards, developing and introducing healthy, high quality food products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage processing and customer supply operations, including recording deliveries, coordinating services, and communicating production updates.
  • Ensure quality food packaging that adheres to relevant food safety standards and regulations to guarantee the quality and safety of the packaged products.
  • Enforce hygiene and safety protocols at our processing facilities through SOP development, staff training, and record-keeping.
  • Drive food product development by creating samples and launching innovative products on the market in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Facilitate efficient production planning by communicating clear needs to the operations team and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Science, or a related field
  • Solid foundation in food processing principles and food product development.
  • 1-3 year experience within the food industry, particularly in a farm-to-market context.
  • Experience with food processing techniques of e.g. fish, fresh vegetable produce, dried fruit, mushrooms, etc. would be a plus.
  • Strong organisational skills to coordinate supply, processing, and delivery operations efficiently.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and customers.
  • Attention to detail to safeguard hygiene and safety standards
  • Creativity and innovation to develop new food products and packaging solutions.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of food processing techniques and equipment.
  • Certifications in food safety and handling would be beneficial.
  • Passion for sustainable and healthy food products.
