Fundraising and Communications Volunteer
Full-time
The Fundraising and Communications Volunteer will play a vital role in generating financial support for ACSI’s programs and enhancing the organization’s visibility and impact through strategic communication. Working closely with the Project Coordinator
and other team members, the Fundraising and Communications Officer will lead efforts to diversify funding sources, develop compelling fundraising materials, and implement effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support from donors, foundations, corporations, and other sources.
2. Identify and research potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships, aligned with ACSI’s mission and programs.
3. Prepare high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and donor reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and deadlines.
4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors and funding partners, including regular communication and stewardship activities.
5. Organize fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals to engage donors and raise awareness of ACSI’s work.
Communications:
6. Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to enhance ACSI’s visibility and impact, both locally and internationally.
7. Create compelling content for ACSI’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and other communication materials.
8. Coordinate media relations, including press releases, interviews, and media outreach, to promote ACSI’s programs and achievements.
9. Support the development of branding and marketing materials, ensuring consistency and alignment with ACSI’s brand identity.
10. Provide communication support to ACSI members and partners, including capacity building and knowledge sharing on communication best practices.
Collaboration and Coordination:
11. Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and other team members to ensure alignment of fundraising and communication activities with ACSI’s strategic goals and programmatic priorities.
12. Coordinate with external consultants, designers, and vendors as needed to support fundraising and communication initiatives.
13. Represent ACSI at relevant forums, conferences, and events to network with potential donors and partners and promote ACSI’s mission and programs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, International Development, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification is an asset.
• Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and/or communication roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector or coalition setting.
• Proven track record of successful fundraising, including securing grants, sponsorships, and donations from diverse sources.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages for different audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
• Creativity, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to ACSI’s mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with international donors, foundations, and funding agencies.
• Knowledge of fundraising and communication best practices in the development sector.
• Experience in event planning and management.
• Proficiency in graphic design and multimedia production software.
• Familiarity with donor databases and CRM systems.
