The Graduate Engineer-Automation will ensure the proper functioning of the plant’s automation hardware and software systems for optimal performance, in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations:
- Write logic diagrams, PLC programs, and design CCR graphic displays for new or revamped equipment.
- Ensure integration and commissioning of hardware/software modifications.
- Rectify, record, and report control system equipment failures.
- Conduct robust troubleshooting of equipment issues within the plant.
- Perform high-quality repair work and communicate findings effectively.
- Routinely maintain and calibrate all plant instruments, including weigh feeders, gas analyzers, opacimeters, dust monitors, CEMS, fire alarm systems, VFDs, and sensors, according to approved schedules.
- Integrate new instruments into the existing system and document their commissioning.
- Request automation spare parts as necessary and ensure readiness for emergencies or urgent breakdowns.
Plant Optimization Operations:
- Revise, test, and distribute General Function Specifications (GFS) for new and revamped systems.
- Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for systems.
- Improve and design control loops and diagrams to optimize process reliability and meet user requirements.
- Ensure consistency in information flow between plant equipment and control systems.
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the proper installation, configuration, and operation of plant IT tools, including QMC, High-Level Control, and TIS.
- Execute weekly work orders based on preventive maintenance and optimization requests.
- Propose and implement optimization initiatives focused on power consumption and cost reduction, extending the electrical life of plant equipment.
Management – Planning and Cost Control:
- Implement and test validated Design Change Requests (DCRs) with user collaboration and ensure systematic storage of changes for traceability.
- Manage software listings, passwords, CCR documentation, DCS alarms, and faults.
- Identify and backup sensitive data as per schedule.
- Assist the Electrical Team Leader in managing the maintenance budget, ensuring planning and task follow-ups to achieve budget goals while maintaining the control system in optimal condition.
Standards:
- Adhere to Hima Cement standards for plant control systems.
- Participate in the technical training of plant personnel to ensure proper system use.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, company policies, and local permits to optimize internal processes and structures.
OHS and Environmental Responsibilities:
- Promote and ensure individual and team safety in all activities.
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations to maintain a zero-harm workplace.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of responsibility.
- Attend HSE trainings provided by the plant.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and programming languages (PLC, C, VB).
- Strong understanding of electrical equipment and instrumentation in an automated plant.
- Knowledge of cement characteristics and material transport equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines with a high sense of quality.
