Graduate Trainee M&E (Qualitative)
Contract
Work Edge Consults Ltd is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Trainee to join our Monitoring and Evaluation team. The Graduate Trainee (Qualitative) will support the design, implementation, and analysis of qualitative data for various M&E projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in the field of M&E and develop a sturdy foundation in qualitative research methodologies.

Reporting Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Collection and Field Work:
- Assist in designing qualitative data collection tools, including interview guides, focus group discussion (FGD) guides, and observation checklists.
- Conduct in-depth interviews, FDs, and other qualitative data collection activities in the field.
- Ensure ethical and culturally appropriate engagement with participants.
2. Data Management and Analysis:
- Transcribe and code qualitative data using appropriate software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
- Assist in analyzing qualitative data to identify key themes, patterns, and insights.
- Contribute to the preparation of qualitative data reports and presentations.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
• Assist in drafting qualitative sections of M&E reports, including case studies, success stories, and narrative summaries.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all qualitative research activities.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support the coordination and facilitation of stakeholder meetings and workshops.
- Assist in communicating qualitative findings to clients and other stakeholders through presentations and written reports.
5. Capacity Building:
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance qualitative research skills and M&E knowledge.
- Support capacity-building activities for project staff and partners on qualitative research methodologies.
6. Other Duties:
- Provide general administrative support to the M&E team as needed.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the M&E Officer.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of qualitative research methodologies and techniques.
- Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis is an advantage but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti) is an asset.
