GRADUATE TRAINEE PROGRAMME

Location: KAMPALA OFFICE
Expected Duration of Graduate Trainee programme: 12 months.
Position Title: Graduate Trainee
Reporting to: Operations Team Leader
The purpose of the Graduate Trainee Program is to prepare and orient graduates towards developing their skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to make them effective future employees. The program will run for a period of 12months where successful candidates will undergo various types of training in Logistics and freight forwarding.
KEY DUTIES:
Operations Department
Operations Imports and Exports Unit
- Generate and present a daily goods-in-transit status report to the team.
- Responsible for booking invoices in the ERP system with guidance from the Operations team leader.
- Learn the job file management processes ensuring that all required documents are received and uploaded on on the ERP system as required.
- Communicate with external third-party suppliers to prepare documentation to facilitate the movement of goods-in-transit.
- Learn the process of customs clearance of cargo (export and import).
- Periodically perform stock taking at the warehouse following the warehouse management system.
- Entering warehouse inbound and outbound data into the ERP system and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Follow up with clients to ensure a smooth communication flow throughout the transit of their cargo.
- Any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Customer Relations Imports & Exports Unit
- Handle Customer Inquiries: Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person, providing accurate information about our services, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Communication: Keep customers informed
- Coordination with the Operations Team: Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure timelv and accurate
- of shipments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, inquiries, and complaints.
- Customer Feedback: Proactively gather customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations while assisting customers with their transport and logistics requirements.
Educational Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Transport and logistics, Procurement and logistics management, International Business, Business administration or any related field.
- Must have acquired at least a Second-Class upper degree from a recognized University or institution.
- Should have Graduated between the years 2020 and 2024 with a transcript available.
