Head Credit Control and Documentation
Full-time
Reporting to the Head Credit Control and Documentation, the role holder will be responsible for managing document verification activities, documentation reviews and perfection of securities for approved facilities, providing high-level quality support to the Credit Control team, while monitoring and tracking vault inventory containing securities and other security documents, in full compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

LOCATION: Kampala
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Pre-disbursement policy compliance checks and sanctioning conditions enforcement.
- Administer accurate document execution both internally and externally by the bank’s customers and the Bank’s internal signatories before submission to external lawyers for perfection.
- Monitor the performance of external law firms handling perfection.
- Administer securities and document perfection and lodgment to Central Registry.
- Issue a disbursement go-ahead within the agreed TAT upfront attaining full perfection of pledged security (unless there is a waiver in place).
- Liaising with all business units on all outstanding approval conditions, where waivers were granted and answering all queries relating to pending perfection.
- Keep an auditable stock report of all securities held- in all forms – including cash/FD and third-party collateral.
- Develop clear policies and procedures relating to documents and collateral management.
- Continuous review of processes within the department.
- Maintain Strong Room Access Control Register as well as other key records and vault information such as list of access visits, list of approved personnel and logs of vault alarm code updates, false alarms, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A good Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any Degree in other related fields.
- Experience in Documents and Records Management as an added advantage.
- Trained in key aspects of credit i.e. Credit Policy, IFRS, FIA, CRB, AML and KYC.
- A minimum of three years experience in areas of credit operations.
- Excellent understanding of collateral documents files.
- In-depth understanding of all bank’s products.
- Knowledge of practical applications of business and administration procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to advance multiple priority assignments independently, concurrently and within established deadlines.
- Computer literacy.
- Attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- High follow-through abilities.
