HR Assistant
Full-time
The HR Assistant will play a vital role in supporting EMI Uganda’s human resources functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Support employee relations
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and Ugandan employment laws
- Foster a supportive environment that reflects EMI’s values and mission
- Work closely under the guidance of the HR Manager
Qualifications:
- Vibrant Christian faith
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in human resources or administrative support (3+ years preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse, cross-cultural teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with HR software
- Basic understanding of Ugandan employment laws and HR best practices
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and interviewing
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees and manage employee exit procedures
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate personnel records
- Support the preparation and administration of payroll, and coordinate with the finance department for accurate processing
- Help administer employee benefits and manage related queries
- Oversee and coordinate both national and expatriate personnel programs, ensuring smooth integration and support
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Assist with organizing staff events and promoting a positive work environment
