IT Applications Manger

Full-time

The IT Applications Manger will be responsible for leading technical support of the core banking system, digital financial systems, alternative banking channels, Database systems and other business applications, ensuring integrity & availability, stability, and enhanced performance.

Reports to: Head of Information Technology

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the IT applications technical team to provide support on core banking system, alternative banking channels and other 3rd party IT applications
  • Lead the design, implementations & maintenance and support of applications and database systems.
  • Lead efforts to maintain and optimize performance of all database systems ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Lead the design, implementation, maintenance and testing of business continuity and recovery plans of all mission critical applications and systems.
  • Sustain the security and integrity of data by establishing and enforcing standards.
  • Manage real time monitoring/alerts, review database performance and trending, and make appropriate recommendations on improvements.
  • Follow the change control process to perform low risk data operations required to resolve open incidents that may not be resolved by users front-end.
  • Coordinate timely generation and submission of ad hoc reports required by business.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing and transfer amongst colleagues and establish a working succession plan in the IT applications team.
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders important to the execution of the bank’s objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • ITIL, Oracle database training & Microsoft SQL Server training certifications is an added advantage.
  • At least five years in a busy ICT environment in a regulated financial institution with hands-on experience in Core Banking Systems, alternative banking channels,3rd party applications support and integration.

Knowledge, Skills & Competences

  • Strong understanding of high availability database and system integration architecture.
  • Ability to communicate & report IT-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations / guidelines relating to financial transactions
  • Strong work ethic to adhere to timelines, leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
