IT Technician
Contract
LWF World Service is hiring an IT Technician to provide on-site and remote IT support across multiple locations, ensuring smooth operation of the organization’s IT systems. This role requires frequent travel to various sub-offices to resolve technical issues, install and configure IT equipment, provide training to staff, and support digital initiatives.
The LWF Uganda Program is looking for a qualified and experienced person to fill the following position:
Place of Assignment: Adjumani
Reports To: IT Officer
Liaises with: IT Officers and Admin Officers across multiple sub-offices (Kitgum/Pader, Lamwo, Obongi and Adjumani).
Starting date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: 1 year contract (with possibility for extension)

Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide on-site and remote IT support to staff across different locations.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Support the IT helpdesk by logging and resolving IT-related tickets efficiently.
Installation & Configuration
- Install and configure new IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, routers, and printers.
- Set up and maintain network connections in different office locations.
- Support the deployment and configuration of the Sage financial application and Office 365.
Digital Support & Capacity Building
- Train staff on digital tools, cybersecurity best practices, and IT policies.
- Develop user guides and training materials for common IT tasks.
- Promote the use of digital services and IT best practices across all locations.
Maintenance & Asset Management
- Regularly check and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring all devices meet minimum hardware and software standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment across various locations.
- Document network configurations, issues, and solutions for future reference.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all IT equipment and data comply with organizational IT security policies.
- Conduct periodic system updates and security patches on all devices.
- Monitor and report any IT security incidents or vulnerabilities.
Education, Qualifications & Experience
- A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A+ certification or equivalent IT support qualification preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support, networking, and system administration.
- Experience working in remote or field locations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently to remote locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and support staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, IT support, digital security measures, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices, and network security fundamentals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
