PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To conduct high-quality research and teach undergraduate students as appropriate.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
a) A Master’s Degree and PhD in Electrical Drives or Power Engineering or related field from a recognized Institution/University.
b) Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Institution/University.
c) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
d) Proven ability to conduct scholarly research.
e) Computer literate.
f) Ability to work in a team and create networks among colleagues.
g) Teaching experience in a recognized institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
h) Good track record of service to the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) To guide and advise students on their academic performance and attend to their queries on academic issues.
b) To participate in the supervision of practicals.
c) To conduct research in areas of specialization and disseminate research findings.
d) To supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking research projects.
e) To organize, attend, and conduct seminars and relevant training.
f) To set tests, examinations, and coursework according to University standards and policies.
g) To mark tests and examination scripts according to approved grading standards of the University.
h) To contribute to the University and wider society through community service.
KEY OUTPUTS
a) Lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students conducted.
b) Students guided and advised on their academic performance.
c) Practicals for students supervised.
d) Research in areas of specialization conducted and disseminated.
e) Students undertaking research supervised and mentored.
f) Seminars and relevant training organized, conducted, and attended.
g) Tests, examinations, and coursework set.
