The Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) is implementing agency of LIFE- AR that coordinates the day to day activities of Least Developed Countries Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience
LIFE- AR. The project will be piloted in the Twelve (12) District Local Governments of Yumbe, Pader, Rakai, Kibaale, Lwengo, Ngora, Ntungamo, Kalaki, Kalungu, Pakwarch, Kaabong and Karenga.
The Ministry wishes to recruit qualified suitable applicants for the following position LIFE-AR Programme Officer.
Job title: LIFE-AR Programme Officers
Reports to: LIFE-AR National Focal Point
Duty station: Piloted LIFE- AR Districts
No of Vacancies: 24 (Twenty-Four) Vacancies
To support the LIFE-AR Pilot Districts in effective implementation of the Least Developed Countries Initiative
Key functions:
- Support the Districts (LIFE-AR Focal Point) to develop District work plans and budgets.
- Support the Districts in implementation of work plans based on the approved budgets.
- Support the Districts to ensure timely reporting and accounting for activities implemented.
- Play a coordinating role between the MWE (National secretariat) and the district through the district LIFE-AR Focal point.
- Undertake monitoring of LIFE-AR activities.
Person Specification:
Should have honours Bachelors’ Degree in Environment, Natural Resources, Climate Change, Engineering, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics and related course from a recognized institution. A post graduate qualification shall be added advantage
Knowledge of the local language of the LIFE- AR selected district will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Should have a working experience of at least two-year working with communities for Government or any reputable Non-Governmental Organization.
Project experience at supervisory level work is an added advantage.
