Under the general guidance of the Transport Development and Road Safety Manager, the Logistics Safety Coordinator will plan, organise, direct, coordinate, and drive the achievement of a proactive road safety management system and performance in our transport operations at the site of location.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning, preparations, and conducting of 5-pillar transport audits, preparation of corrective actions, and follow up on corrective actions to successful closure.
- Offer technical assistance in the prequalification of transporters as required in the contractor management system and ensure that transporters have good fleet maintenance and inspection programs and that dispatched trucks are in good condition.
- Design and implement a route hazard mapping program, ensure it is updated regularly, and that all drivers assigned to a route are briefed on the main route hazards.
- Align with business needs by participating in the selection and prequalification of potential transporters and follow up on corrective action plans within agreed timelines.
- Manage accidents and incidents, including investigation and reporting as per company guidelines and procedures. Prepare reports, share key learnings with stakeholders, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Capture, maintain, and analyze road safety data and statistics, and derive actions for continuous improvement from the data.
- Conduct meetings with stakeholders and make presentations as needed.
- Supervise the truck inspection process for effectiveness, document process findings for further analysis, and derive actions for improvement.
- Conduct regular housekeeping audits and inspections at parking yards, driver welfare facilities, and checkpoints to ensure compliance with site Health and Safety Regulations.
- Design and implement road safety culture change initiatives such as campaigns, public awareness training, etc., both within and those organized by other agencies.
- Drive a structured, consistent, and documented driver training and development program.
- Implement and sustain an effective journey plan management system with written journey plans that are monitored, evaluated, and closed. Conduct pre- and post-trip engagements, GPS monitoring, checkpoint management, and compliance, ensuring that all drivers and checkpoint marshals adhere to checkpoint requirements. In collaboration with other employees, push and improve compliance through well-conducted and documented road patrols.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- 1 year of experience in a busy commercial environment/FMCG involving import/export
- Must demonstrate a passion for transport safety
