Manager – Bids
Contract
Main Purpose:
The Manager – Bids will be responsible for identifying business opportunities in the Large Enterprises business segment and Public Sector, developing competitive bid responses, and overseeing the entire bidding process.

Main Job Functions:
- Manage the end-to-end bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting winning proposals and strategizing for contract renewals.
- Formulate strategies for the bidding process, manage resources, and ensure compliance with client requirements.
- Define necessary partnerships for effective bid responses.
- Qualify opportunities, analyze customer needs, and assess the competitive landscape.
- Profile customers, including mapping key decision-makers.
- Estimate deal values and align them with MTN’s strategy, capabilities, and objectives.
- Manage virtual bid teams and coordinate inputs from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal, and project management/delivery.
- Collaborate with the Sales Lead to develop a win strategy for each bid.
- Address complex technical, strategic, and business issues.
- Review and confirm pricing, margins, and discretionary discounts.
- Prepare and review commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Track and manage risks throughout the bid process.
- Contribute to the proposal’s content and presentation, including the executive summary.
- Ensure timely completion of each step in the bid process, including internal governance.
- Coordinate client presentations required for bid submissions.
- Ensure timely submission of compliant and commercially sound bids.
- Provide initial “go/no-go” decisions and final approval of bid response documents.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Computer Science.
Experience Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant management experience in a large commercial enterprise.
- Strong analytical and management skills.
Skills and Competencies Required:

- Strong financial deal analysis and calculation capabilities.
- Ability to identify partnership opportunities.
- Proficiency in computer applications and excellent analytical skills.

- Review documentation to understand customer requirements.

- Manage customer relationships in service level delivery.
