About the Company:

 

Job Summary:

The Manager Internal Audit will provide strategic leadership in ensuring the effectiveness of internal financial controls, risk management systems, corporate governance, and fiscal compliance within the organization. The role involves overseeing internal audit operations, identifying areas of improvement, and advising senior management on financial integrity.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend improvements to the financial and risk management systems of the institution.
  • Analyze and assess the quality assurance and risk management frameworks for the Board’s programs and operations, reporting findings to management.
  • Coordinate and monitor compliance with internal audit standards, taking remedial action where necessary.
  • Review management responses to financial non-compliance issues and provide advice to the Director General.
  • Monitor the implementation of actions arising from internal audit reports.
  • Coordinate internal audit surveys and determine locations for audits.
  • Conduct ad-hoc investigations into the integrity of fiscal control systems and financial management practices.
  • Plan and coordinate staff sensitization sessions on fiscal accountability and internal audit standards.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting option), Business Administration (Accounting option), Business Studies (Accounting option), or Finance and Accounting from a recognized University.
  • Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Full professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIA, CIMA).

Work Experience:

  • At least six (6) years of relevant work experience, with three (3) years at a Senior Internal Auditor level or equivalent, from a reputable organization.
