Marketing Manager

Full-time

The Marketing Manager will oversee the development and implementation of Uganda’s tourism marketing strategy and Destination Uganda brand manual, positioning Uganda as a preferred tourism destination worldwide.

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Senior Marketing Officers

 


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of the Destination Uganda marketing strategy.
  • Oversee the implementation and review of the destination brand strategy.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of advertising campaigns and activations in domestic, regional, and international markets.
  • Monitor marketing trends, conduct competitor analysis, and analyze data to maintain a competitive advantage.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, or other relevant degree from a reputable university.
  • Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, or Marketing.
  • Professional marketing qualification (e.g., Chartered Institute of Marketing [CIM]) or another relevant certification is an added advantage.
  • 10 years of experience, with 5 years in a senior management role within a reputable, large organization.

Skills

  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and market intelligence briefs.
  • Ability to analyze target audience/market segments and gather insights for the Board’s marketing strategy.
  • Skilled in budgetary analysis for directing and guiding marketing decisions.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills.
