Medical Sales Representative

Full-time

Marie Stopes Uganda is hiring a Medical Sales Representative whose role  is to promote, market, and distribute MSUG’s range of pharmaceutical products to meet set ambitious business objectives. The position holder is responsible for managing business relationships with existing clients while acquiring new customers to guarantee customer satisfaction when interacting with MSUG brands.

The position holder will be required to consistently engage with healthcare institutions and healthcare providers (HCPs) to share MSUG product offerings and superiority, growing Marie Stopes brand awareness and credibility better than the competition.

Reporting To: Territory Supervisor

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively detail, train, and promote the assigned range of pharmaceutical products to healthcare providers for prescription and use by highlighting features/benefits of the products, proven efficacy, new research, and clinical findings through one-on-one detailing and group meetings.
  • Achieve minimum secondary sales targets as set by the supervisor.
  • Achieve maximum productivity by preparing efficient and effective route plans to cover the entire territory and required number of existing and new customers daily.
  • Ensure visibility of MSUG products at the outlets, including the display of the company’s communication materials at outlets, doctors’ chambers, clinics, and hospitals.
  • Book orders from doctors, private service providers, pharmacies, wholesalers, chain stores, hospitals, private clinics, and NGOs.
  • Collect and report information on competitors’ products and activities.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Territory Supervisor as per specified reporting formats.
  • Attend training sessions to develop competencies required for being a more effective salesperson.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local influential and opinion leaders on behalf of the company.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Degree in Biological or Biomedical Sciences, or Diploma in Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, or Nursing from a reputable institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with robust pharmaceutical sales and specialization in sales or marketing of health products.
  • Additional training in pharmaceutical marketing is an advantage.
  • Significant knowledge of family planning and the pharmaceutical sector in Uganda.
  • Valid driving license with more than 2 years of driving experience.
  • Hardworking, persuasive, quick decision-making, and highly intelligent.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer management skills.
