PEOPLE & CULTURE OFFICER (1 POSITION)

Duties Brief

Purpose of position

The People & Culture Officer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Field office’s Human Resources function. This includes overseeing talent acquisition, policy implementation, and strategic staffing alignment with organizational goals. They will ensure compliance with regulations while fostering a positive workplace culture conducive to employee growth and inclusivity, providing effective support to all staff members

 

Job description

  1. Provide guidance and direction to site staff as per the set People and Culture policy
  2. Talent Acquisition: Attract and hire top talent that aligns with the organizational values and goals.
  3. Provide orientation to all new staff
  4. Staff contract management
  5. Employee Development: Support the professional growth and development of employees through training and coaching
  6. Policy Implementation: Develop and implement P&C policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a positive work environment.
  7. Employee Relations: Handle employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances to maintain a harmonious workplace culture.
  8. Cultural Champion: Foster a diverse, inclusive, and engaging work culture where every employee feels valued and respected
  9. Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, regulations, and company policies to mitigate risks and maintain legal compliance
  10. Record Keeping: File staff documents and other People and Culture documents as required
  11. Audit Management: Manage site audit inquiries
  12. Ensure site staff have identity cards, medical insurance cards and are covered for WC&GPA
  13. Ensure that all staff submit their Timesheets by the 30th of every month
  14. Attend general staff meetings and report all action items to the People and Culture Manager
  15. Work on the site payroll changes
  16. Submit weekly targets and outputs
  17. Any other duty assigned by your supervisor. In addition, the responsibilities may be revised to suit the changing needs of the Project. If and when this is necessary, you will always be informed.

Qualifications and other desirables for the job:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or any other related fields
  2. 1 –2 years of experience in a human resources position or related position
  3. Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite
  4. Organized and efficient in daily tasks
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  6. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  7. Goal-oriented, organized team player.
  8. Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
  9. Great “people-person” skills and professional attitude.
  10. Experience working in a donor-funded environment;
  11. Experience working in a research setting;
  12. Knowledge of NAVISION/Dynamics 365 Business Central is an added advantage
