The PhD scholar will be working under an NIH funded observational study entitled Clinical Predictors of 3-months Isoniazid and Rifapentine (3HP)- related Adverse Drug Reactions during Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy.
The PhD study will be a sub study evaluating the pharmacogenetic predictors of adverse drug reactions among individuals receiving the 3HP regimen for TPT.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation and Data management
The scholar will:
- Develop a proposal regarding the sub study for PhD research project.
- Review, clean and ensure data accuracy for the data from the main study that will be used for analysis as part of the PhD research project.
- Follow up and review the genotypic data results from the lab.
- Take the lead in the analysis and interpretation of the genotypic data.
- Be required to meet all the required outcomes for a PhD scholar under Makerere University Directorate of research and graduate training.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a clinical field or statistics
Person Specification
- The PhD Scholar should have experience in working with clinical related data and preferably pharmacokinetic/pharmacogenetic data.
- Basic training in pharmacokinetics/clinical pharmacology is an added advantage.
