Quality Assurance Assistant

The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures. This includes monitoring and testing products at various stages of production, documenting findings, and working with the production Supervisor to correct any quality issues
Reports to:Quality Assurance Manager
Duty Station: Soroti
Main Duties
Inspection and Testing:
Conduct regular inspections and tests of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Record and analyze test data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and audits.
Prepare reports on quality performance, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure that all products meet regulatory and company-specific quality standards.
Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improving product quality and process efficiency.
Work with production staff to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to production staff on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with special projects and initiatives as needed.
And any other duties that may be assigned to you by your supervisors from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
A degree in Food Science/Industrial Chemistry/Microbiology and any other related discipline.
2 years of relevant experience in a similar field
Certification in Quality Management System (QMS) or food safety management (FSM) (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is an advantage.
Minimum of 2 years working experience in a quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry.
Experience with quality control techniques and tools.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for food safety.
Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
Proficiency in using inspection and testing equipment.
Ability to use computer software for data entry and analysis (e.g., Microsoft Office, quality management systems).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
