GIZ is recruiting a Regional Advisor to support the Team Europe Initiative (TEI) in Africa. The Advisor will work on implementing the EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR), focusing on sustainable agricultural practices, outreach, and stakeholder engagement in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cooperation Management: Manage cooperation with international partners, particularly those relevant to the EUDR.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and leverage outreach and engagement opportunities, especially in East and Central African coffee-producing countries.
- Collaboration with TEI Secretariat: Coordinate closely with the TEI Secretariat in Brussels, providing regular analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Regional Coffee Dialogue Coordination: Lead the Africa Regional Coffee Dialogue under the TEI, ensuring alignment with other regional and global initiatives.
- Event Management: Plan and manage TEI outreach events, both online and offline.
- Contract and Activity Oversight: Manage contracts and oversee the implementation of activities at the regional level.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Business Management, Economics, Agriculture, International Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a comparable position related to regional economic development in Africa. Experience working with the European Union or in cofinanced projects is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of EU Green Deal policies, trade, and sustainability.
- Intercultural sensitivity and effective communication skills.
- Strong networking and partnership management skills.
- Ability to work under time pressure and set clear priorities.
- Fluency in English, with knowledge of French and other relevant regional languages being an advantage.
