Research Associate/Coordinator

StrongMinds is hiring a Research Associate/Coordinator to support an innovative Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) evaluating our IPT-G model. Based in Uganda, this role focuses on coordinating research activities between external researchers and internal teams. This is a 4-month contract with the potential for extension, offering hands-on experience in groundbreaking mental health research.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Research & Data

- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to coordinate and implement research activities.
- Support recruitment, training, and supervision of the field team.
- Refine and pilot survey instruments to ensure effectiveness.
- Monitor and supervise data collection processes to maintain data quality.
- Conduct data quality checks and address any issues identified during
- Support data cleaning and preliminary analysis, ensuring easy access to data.
- Contribute to the development of critical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all team members adhere to necessary protocols and procedures.

- Maintain detailed documentation and ensure participant confidentiality.
- Prepare high-quality progress reports for leadership and research teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison among field staff, research teams, and investigators.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, economics, public policy, or related field.
- Proficiency in Stata and/or R, with strong statistical and data management skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience managing field staff in developing countries.
- Public health intervention experience.
