Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all security clearance requests are accurate and complete, maintaining adherence to UN Security Management System (UNSMS) standards and WFP Security policies.
- Track and report compliance with security-related submission deadlines to ensure adherence to operational requirements.
- Monitor and manage travel tracking systems, ensuring compliance with established travel windows and security protocols.
- Consolidate security-related budget inputs from Area and Field Offices to assist the Head of Security in making informed financial decisions.
- Facilitate the procurement of security equipment and maintain accurate tracking of assets to enhance accountability and resource management.
- Apply a thorough understanding of UNSMS standards and WFP Security policies to support the implementation of security measures.
- Assist in the implementation of security operations to ensure the safety and security of WFP staff, assets, and operations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the objectives of the Security Unit.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Education:
The ideal candidate for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Security Intern job should hold a university degree in International Relations, Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, or any other related field.
Experience and Skills:
- Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, digital mapping and/or GIS system.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Fluency in English (level C) including excellent writing and reading skills required.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand local Ugandan languages of the duty station is an added advantage.
