Senior Qualitative Analyst

The Senior Qualitative Analyst is responsible for leading qualitative research initiatives that provide deep insights into complex social, cultural, and behavioral phenomena. This role involves designing and conducting qualitative research, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings to inform strategic decisions. The Senior Qualitative Analyst will mentor junior researchers, ensure methodological rigor, and contribute to the organization’s thought leadership in qualitative research.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of qualitative research plans, including the selection of appropriate methodologies, sampling strategies, and data collection tools.
• Design research instruments such as interview guides, focus group discussion guides, and observation protocols that align with research objectives.
• Ensure that all research activities adhere to ethical standards and obtain necessary approvals from relevant bodies.
• Oversee and conduct complex qualitative data collection, including in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnographic studies, and participatory research.
• Ensure the quality and reliability of data collected by supervising field teams and providing on-the-ground support as needed.
• Address challenges encountered during data collection by adapting methodologies and strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
• Lead the analysis of qualitative data using advanced methods such as grounded theory, narrative analysis, or discourse analysis and utilize qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLASi, MAXQDA) to systematically code and analyze data.
• Identify key themes, patterns, and insights, and develop a coherent narrative that answers research questions and provides actionable recommendations.
• Write comprehensive research reports that present findings in a clear, compelling, and accessible manner.
• Create visual representations of qualitative data, such as thematic maps, to enhance understanding and communication of results.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior researchers and analysts, enhancing their qualitative research skills and professional development by leading training sessions on qualitative research methodologies, data collection techniques, and data analysis tools.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning within the research team by promoting best practices and encouraging innovative approaches.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quantitative researchers, project managers, and operations team to integrate qualitative insights into broader research initiatives.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including partners, clients, and community members, to ensure that research is contextually relevant and impactful.
• Contribute to the organization’s thought leadership by publishing articles, white papers, and case studies on qualitative research topics.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in qualitative research methodologies and incorporate innovative approaches into the organization’s research practices.
Education Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology, psychology, market research, or a related field. A master’s degree or PH.D. is preferred.
Preferred Skills
• Advanced proficiency in qualitative research methodologies and data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Experience
• Minimum of five years of experience in Qualitative research, the proven track record of leading complex qualitative studies and delivering actionable insights, experience in agile project management is highly desirable
• In-depth understanding of qualitative research ethics and best practices.
• Familiarity with social, cultural, and behavioral theory and its application in qualitative research.
• Awareness of current trends and innovations in qualitative research
