Shift Supervisor

Mukwano Industries is hiring a Shift Supervisor

Key Result Areas:

  • Allocating and monitoring work assigned to subordinates.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to subordinates in the plant.
  • Monitoring inventory and preparing requisitions for raw materials and spare parts.
  • Preparing daily production reports.
  • Overseeing preventive maintenance daily and ensuring it is done timely to reduce downtime.
  • Ensuring efficient plant utilization with company quality standards from production planning.
  • Monitoring worker performance during the production process.
  • Entering production data into the Enterprise Resource Application database.
  • Overseeing housekeeping in the production area.
  • Consulting with the Production Officer/Manager to determine and implement efficient production methods.
  • Ensuring products are produced on time and meet quality standards.
  • Monitoring the production process and ensuring that quality-control programs are implemented.
  • Selecting and maintaining equipment, and working with managers to ensure company policies and goals are met on time.
  • Implementing health and safety guidelines in the plant for human, material, and machinery safety.
  • Identifying training needs for staff.
  • Communicating business and company issues to direct reports and line managers, fostering a good team spirit.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Production Officer/Manufacturing Manager/BUM.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree/Diploma: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.
