Social Science Research Assistant

The Social Science Research Assistant will be Supporting FaCe-D study to investigate the contextual and process factors that influence the reach, adaptability, appropriateness, effectiveness, fidelity, acceptability, scalability (uptake) and sustainability of Family Centered Approach intervention for improving the cardiovascular health among adolescents in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Principal duties.
- Ensure that participants for the study are mobilized and recruited into the study.
- Administer study information to participants and obtain informed consent
- Translate study documents
- Collect, code, and analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of research activities.
- Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.
- Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure project milestones are met.
- Perform administrative tasks related to research projects as needed.
Financial management.
- Ensure proper accountability of project resources in line with MRC/UVRI & LSHTM policies; and,
- Ensure study participants’ time / transport compensation payment.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work and Social Administration or and Applied Psychology
- GDPR and HSP/GCP training
- At least 6 months’ experience in a clinical research setting, preferably including experience in social and behavioral science research
- Experience working with the Family –based/centered interventions
- Experience in working with adolescents’ health
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team with clinical/epidemiological researchers
- Prior interviewing experience
- Fluency in English, Lusoga and Luganda language
- Basic knowledge in data collection, handling and reporting.
- Proficiency in computer use (MS word, Excel, Access, SSP
- Self-driven
