Spray Painter
Full-time
To provide efficient and effective spray painting services to company clients vehicles. As a spray painter, you will be responsible for filling, smoothing, and repairing each vehicle’s surface, mixing the coating liquids and spraying each layer according to specifications.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Carry out spray painting services on customer vehicles.
- Measure and calculate materials needed and appropriate quantities.
• Select and mix coating liquid to produce desired color in accordance with required specifications.
• Keep all spray painting equipment in sound condition for proper service, maintenance and repair works.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces in advance by pressure washing, sanding, scraping and cleaning.
• Polish vehicle surface to be sprayed, prime and mask off the parts not required for spraying.
• Fill, sand and smooth vehicle surfaces that need to be sprayed.
• Select and attach the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern.
• Perform touch-up work, correct imperfections and patch holes.
• Work with the team to bring out quality body repair and refinish, check colour mismatch before vehicle deliver.
• Clean spray nozzles and other spraying equipment with solvent after each spray job.
• Adhere to all OH&S requirements at all times.
• Ensure vehicles are presented clean and without overspray or preparation residue.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Certificate or Diploma in spraying/painting, decoration or automotive collision repair.
• At least 02 year’s spray-painting working experience in a garage or auto workshop.
• Good knowledge of motor vehicle operations and maintenance.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, good knowledge of paint mixing techniques and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to see subtle color differences.
• Proficient in using spray painting tools and equipment
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of manual and computerized sales systems.
