Strategy & Operations Analyst

Full-time

Quality Chemical Industries Limited (QCIL) is hiring a Strategy & Operations Analyst will support QCIL’s C-suite by conducting research and analysis on high-impact projects, providing data-driven insights, and enhancing Board reporting. The role will also involve working closely with the CEO and CFO to improve internal efficiencies and support QCIL’s strategic ambitions.

Location: Kampala
Reporting To: CEO and CFO

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Projects and Business Growth

  • Conduct financial modeling, scenario analysis, and market research to support strategic initiatives.
  • Assess new business opportunities, including market expansion, product diversification, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
  • Evaluate and develop strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Track the execution of strategic priorities, such as expansion plans and product partnerships.
  • Assess business performance and key growth drivers and their impact on financial forecasts.

2. Executive and Board Support

  • Prepare quarterly reports, strategic presentations, and performance analyses.
  • Support the CEO with data-driven insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Contribute to internal and external communications, ensuring high-quality reporting and messaging.

3. Head Office Optimization

  • Assist head office functions in streamlining reporting and repetitive tasks.
  • Improve quality control in financial analysis and executive presentations.
  • Implement dashboards and reporting tools for real-time tracking of business metrics and projects.

4. Organizational Priorities

  • Support internal key priorities, including lending processes, onboarding of new systems, annual reports, and internal audit trackers.
  • Improve cross-functional collaboration to ensure the timely execution of key projects.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, CBAP, CCBA, or a Project Management Certification is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in strategic analysis, business analysis, consulting, finance, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex business problems and recommend solutions.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Passion for innovation and improving business processes.
  • Ability to commit to QCIL’s mission of producing lifesaving medicines and fostering regional self-sufficiency.
