Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is hiring a Surveillance Coordinator
Project: PRISM Project
Purpose of Position:
The Surveillance Coordinator will play a key role in the PRISM project, leading comprehensive surveillance activities.
Job Description:
- Sensitization of district and local stakeholders.
- Leadership and coordination of health facility surveillance and cross-sectional surveys.
- Planning and budgeting for field activities.
- Participation in the development of protocols, OPs, and data collection tools.
- Conducting data quality assessments, mentorship, and CMEs at health facilities.
- Ensuring proper administration of informed consent and proper collection and management of data and samples from study sites.
- Preparing and distributing study updates and reports.
- Leading study team meetings.
- Participating in data analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of study findings in collaboration with the data management team and the investigators.
Key Result Areas/Outputs:
- Leadership, supervision of staff, and team management.
- Implementation of study activities, including surveys, data quality assessments, mentorship, and CMEs for health workers at the MRC sites, and other fieldwork.
- Data and sample management, including collection and analysis.
- Report and manuscript writing.
- Storage and maintenance of study documents, including informed consent forms and other regulatory files.
Qualifications and Other Desirables:
- MBChB/MD – Minimum Qualification.
- Registration with the UMDPC & valid Annual Practicing License.
- Master of Public Health/Master of Science (added advantage).
- Experience carrying out research (minimum research at undergraduate level).
- Excellent interpersonal skills/experience working with and leading teams.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must have good computer and interpersonal skills.
- Must have valid GCP and HSP certificates.
