Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will install, configure, maintain, and optimize the performance of systems. The role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems. Additionally, the role involves analyzing system logs, identifying potential issues, applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes, and ensuring performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission-critical enterprise systems in accordance with ICT policy.

Reports to: Senior Systems Administrator
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure security for IT systems by implementing security policies and procedures in accordance with ICT policies and guidelines.
- Administer the Storage Area Network (SAN) backups, snapshots, and their corresponding restoration, and coordinate contingency plan tests regularly.
- Regularly apply Operating System patches and upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure or add new services as necessary.
- Administer and support the Disaster Recovery (DR) system, CCTV, digital security access control, and time and attendance environments, ensuring high availability (95%).
- Continuously monitor systems and maintain up-to-date documentation of the corresponding configurations.
- Install, configure, and maintain all enterprise IT systems, including directory services, internet, and email, ensuring an availability of 95%.
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Person Specifications, Experience, and Competences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Physical Sciences (Math or Physics), Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related IT field.
- Possession of IT professional certifications such as Microsoft, Linux, CompTIA, Cisco, Oracle, CISA, or ITIL.
- At least 3 years of experience in the IT field from a reputable organization.
- Significant experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting:
- Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services and network infrastructure.
- Windows Server application infrastructure.
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and above.
- Knowledge of storage technology such as IBM N3600 and V7000.
- Knowledge of firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, or Fortinet.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, including VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, and V-Centre Server.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Demonstrated background in personal and group leadership.
- A person of integrity, highly motivated, innovative, and a committed team player.
