Warehouse Officer

Full-time

The Warehouse Officer will assist in various inbound, picking, and outbound activities as per SOP.

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Ensure accurate tallying during loading and offloading as related to shipping documents.
  • Supervise handlers/gangs to ensure proper handling of stock to avoid damages or accidents.

 

  • Assist the warehouse supervisor in preparing stacking space, personnel, and equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure all stock is stacked, palletized, or re-bagged per SOP and QHSE safety rules.
  • Record stack cards to ensure visibility of records for all inbound, outbound, and storage facilities.
  • Ensure physical receipt of stock into stores as per PO, DN Invoice, and Return Note.
  • Ensure knitting, scanning, and issuance of approved and fully paid customer orders and approved SORFs.
  • Perform daily stock counts against the stock ledger and reconcile to zero variance.
  • Plan and request weekly stock for the dealer shop from the main store.
  • Perform month-end counts and reconciliation of stock against system balances.
  • Ensure proper shelving, labeling, and storage of stock within the dealer shop.
  • Attend to any customer complaints within 24 hours.
  • Prepare stock items for disposal as per the write-off approved by the client.
  • Ensure inspection of stock received together with the client as per specifications to vendor.
  • Update stock cards of transactions done.
  • Ensure custody of all assets in the warehouse.
  • Ensure issuance of stock follows FIFO.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all QHSE regulations to maintain safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse and yard.
  • Adhere to security procedures as per SOP in the warehouse at all times and perform daily checks for compliance.

Documentation:

  • Ensure correct archiving of warehouse documentation.
  • Manage records, including filing and arranging in chronological order.
  • Receive and file warehouse loading and off-loading reports.

Reporting:

  • Update and submit management reports of daily stock movements and balances as per warehouse manager/client requirements.
  • Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.

Other:

  • Abide by SOP and QHSE regulations.
  • Carry out all delegated tasks from the warehouse manager.
  • Record damages, losses, surpluses of stock and report to the Warehouse Manager and Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in supply chain with a specific focus on warehousing.

Education:

  • Supply chain management Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Business degree
  • WMS Experience
  • Training in MS Office suite and other industry-related courses is an advantage.
