Ernst & Young is hiring a Tax/legal Associate with expertise to join our Tax team. Key responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation of proposals and fee quotes for prospective clients.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal memorandums
  • Attending tax litigation proceedings and representing clients before the tax appeals tribunal
  • Handling corporate legal processes like company incorporation and regulatory compliance on behalf of clients.
  • Review and filing of annual returns with the Registrar of companies
  • Preparation or review of legal and tax advisory opinions for clients
  • Preparation of transfer pricing policy documents
  • Corresponding with clients to explain complex legal issues
  • Representation of clients in tax controversy matters at Objections and Alternative Dispute resolution stages.
  • Preparation and presentation of legal update briefs for clients
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts for clients
  • Preparation of training materials on legal and tax issues.
  • Preparation and filing of tax return (WHT, VAT and CIT)

To qualify for the role, you should have:

 

  • First Class or Second Class-Upper bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, any Business-related field or Law.
  • A Post Graduate Diploma in Tax, or Law from LDC will be an added advantage.
  • Full or part professional qualification (CPA, ACCA or other recognised qualification) is an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient computer skills and analytics.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Advanced Computer skills and analytics.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar or related role.
