We are hiring a Biostatistician

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Reports to: Principal Investigator

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise collection of quantitative data
  • Conduct data cleaning and manipulation to generate analyzable datasets.
  • Analyse quantitative data, particularly longitudinal datasets and time series data.
  • Develop statistical models and perform data analyses using appropriate software (e.g., Stata, R, SAS).
  • Conduct quality control of statistical data, ensuring the validity and reliability of the analysis.
  • Collaborate with the study team to interpret results and contribute to the preparation of reports and publications.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data analysis plans and methodologies.
  • Support the development of reports and manuscripts from analysis.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
Ugandan coffee brewing equipment
  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics or a closely related field (or nearly completed).
  • Proficiency in statistical software: Stata, R, or SAS (candidates must be highly competent in at least one of these).
  • Experience in analyzing longitudinal datasets and time series data is essential.
  • Strong background in statistical modelling and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing health-related data, especially HIV-related data is an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
