Procurement Officer

Abacus Parenteral Drugs Limited is hiring a Procurement Officer responsible for coordinating and assisting with sustainable Procurement initiatives, coordinating procurement, monitoring internal procurement systems, providing procurement advice where applicable and negotiating supply agreement

Reporting To: Head of Supply Chain

Job Roles and Expectations

Cost Control & Service Delivery

Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company.
Identify and research potential new suppliers.
Identify, agree, and deliver annual measurable cost reductions in schemes from procurement activity to assist the company in meeting its overall objectives and targets through the Balanced Scorecard.

Inventory Management

Monitor business trends and product availability to ensure the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services, and maintaining stock levels.

Documentation

Oversee the purchasing team section.
Coordinate purchase requisitions (PRs) and quotations, and prepare purchase orders.
Ensure goods are delivered promptly with proper documentation.
Update relevant logbooks for local imports and NDA proformas.

Deputizing

In the absence of the Head of Supply Chain, handle the section’s responsibilities.

Authorities

Initiate purchase orders (POs) for approved materials/services.
Recommend vendors based on price, quality, compliance, and reliability.
Ensure vendors meet regulatory and internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices [GMP], Good Distribution Practices [GDP]).

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, or a related field.
4–5 years of progressive experience in Procurement/Supply Chain.
