Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is On behalf of our client in the FMCG sector hiring a Food Technologist will oversee the development, modification, and optimization of food products and processes to ensure safety, legal compliance, and high-quality standards.

Reports To: The NPD Manager
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

JOB SUMMARY

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develop and improve recipes and production processes.
  • Ensure products are manufactured safely and to high standards.
  • Collaborate with production and marketing teams.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Train staff and ensure SOP compliance.
  • Conducting data reviews.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Maintaining and improving product quality and safety through managing quality assurance systems
  • Perform any other roles as may be assigned by the line manager

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field or any other related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role/ in a food processing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (like FSSC 22000), and strong analytical and communication skills.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Key stakeholders including the Marketing, Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Senior Leadership Team.
External: Standard Bodies, Suppliers and Vendors, Consumers, Public Health Organizations
