REPORTS TO: CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks that align with corporate strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and reflect current regulations and best practices.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks related to business operations.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Design and implement internal control systems to prevent errors and fraud.
- Monitor the effectiveness of controls and recommend improvements as needed.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess compliance and control effectiveness.
- Prepare reports for senior management and stakeholders on governance, risk, and control issues.
- Document processes, controls, and compliance activities thoroughly.
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and understanding of governance, risk management, and control policies among employees.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and business units, to ensure alignment and address governance-related concerns.
- Revenue assurance on all manual processes on monthly basis.
- Implementation & embedment of risk management practices.
- Implementation and embedment of governance practices plus new regulations and meeting regulatory requirements in the department.
- Conduct secretarial duties for the Departmental Unit risk Committee meetings and share minutes & the reporting template with the manco team and Resolution of all open risk findings in the department.
- Review Key risk Indicators for the department every month and submit a consolidated report on the 2nd day of a new month to the risk department.
- Conduct Risk control reviews across the department while positively engaging staff on control lapses and guiding them on implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in the review of the Bank processes, procedures, manuals & their subsequent implementation across the departmental
- Review and monitor the Navision report and drive the team to resolve matters timely
- Remediation of all Audit findings while establishing corrective Actions
- Review SLAs, drive & track compliance.
Minimum Education Qualification:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- A postgraduate degree or a professional qualification will be an added advantage
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, preferably in a banking industry.
