Makerere University is hiring a Monitoring Evaluation & Learning Officer to monitor and evaluate all programmes to inform learning and adaptive management of the program and support with community engagements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning framework and related tools for effective Program implementation;
- Prepare and monitor implementation of the annual work plans;
- Monitor and evaluate all program activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the Program output;
- Collaborate the Program database with the other Partners’ related databases;
- Co-ordinate periodic Program evaluation studies including mid-term and end-term review and consolidate learning from evaluation activities;
- Implement monitoring frameworks to track progress and assess the impact of the Centre’s initiatives;
- Monitor and evaluate Program Impact at Individual, Institutional and Ecosystem level;
- Compile and analyze data related to program activities, and prepare accurate, timely reports to support decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement;
- Monitor, identify and report any safeguarding concerns that may arise during the Program implementation;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in Development Studies or Social work and Social Administration or Business Administration or Economics or Statistics or Education or Management Studies from a recognized institution
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Planning and Management from a recognized institution.
- An Honour’s Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies or Social work and Social Administration or Business Administration or Economics or Statistics or Education or Management Studies from a recognized /institution
Experience
- A minimum of 6 years’ relevant work experience, 3 of which should have been at the level of Assistant Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer.
- Competencies
- Experience using diverse data analysis packages and database management systems.
- Experience in implementing various programme evaluation approaches and methodologies.
- Demonstrated adaptive management skills in using Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning tools.
- Experience in synthesizing activity reports to inform adaptive learning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites and other digital tools.
