Movit Products Limited is hiring a Quality Control Officer (2) to ensure that all products manufactured meet the required quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and are safe for consumer use through effective in-process and finished product quality control activities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties1. Quality Control & Assurance
  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process materials, and finished products as per approved specifications and methods.
  • Conduct sampling and testing of water and environmental monitoring samples.
  • Lead failure investigations related to shop floor non-conformances to identify root cause and appropriate mitigation action plan.
  • Coordinate and participate in handling all unplanned deviations (incidents, non-conformances, discrepancies, Out of Specification), conduct quality investigations using best tools, compile CAPA reports, and monitor timely closeout and effectiveness of CAPAs.
  • Inspect returned goods for proper decision-making.
  • Facilitate product certification programs by organizing sample testing and registration with Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
  • Analyze records of production returns to identify specific problems and return trends.
  • Document and review all planned deviations and change controls before forwarding to the supervisor.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly Quality Reports using suitable statistical tools to analyze process/product performance and report any abnormalities observed or anticipated.
  • Champion effective Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement, and Innovation.

2. Training & Documentation

  • Train production staff in GMP, company safety policies, line inspection, and visual packaging procedures of finished products.
  • Coordinate and conduct training activities for new and existing employees as per schedule and maintain training records.
  • Issue Batch Manufacturing Records upon receipt of manufacturing orders and retrieve them once fully completed for review and archival.

3. Systems & Compliance

  • Enter electronic data on PM (Packaging Material), SF (Semi-Finished), and FG (Finished Goods) in SAP.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance regarding product certification.
  • Adhere to all Movit Group and in-country policies and procedures.

4. Financial & Risk Management

  • Monitor and ensure zero waste across different manufacturing processes.
  • Identify departmental risks, their mitigations, and keep track of them.

5. Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or any other related science discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the FMCG industry, preferably as a Quality Control Analyst.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Awareness of occupational health & safety
  • Advanced experience with MS Office
  • Understanding of GMP/GLP
  • Risk-based thinking and decision-making
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
